What Are the Symptoms of Low Testosterone?
The decline of testosterone can be very bothersome and
cause a significant decrease in the quality of life. Many
men experience symptoms of this decline in testosterone.
Some symptoms are:
- Decrease in muscle mass
- Increase in fat
- Decreased libido
- Depressed mood
- Difficulty achieving and maintaining erections
- Decreased energy
- Poor performance at work
- Trouble concentrating
In addition to bothersome quality of life symptoms,
evidence suggests that low levels of testosterone are
associated with more serious health risks such as:
- Cardiovascular disease (this includes an increase risk of heart attack and poor circulation)
- Osteoporosis (with decreasing levels, men in their 40’s begin to loose bone thickness and
are at risk for fractures)
